Itching to learn what chilling secrets True Detective: Night Country has in store in episode 5? Then you’re in luck: We get to watch it a full two days early.
According to a title card that plays before Night Country episode 4 on Max, episode 5 will get an early streaming premiere at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 9. The shift from the original airdate of Sunday, Jan. 11 takes Night Country out of direct competition with the Super Bowl — and gives us two extra days to work on our fan theories about what happened to the Tsalal scientists.
HBO pulled a similar move last year with an episode of The Last of Us that coincided with the Super Bowl. However, the series returned to its regularly scheduled airtime in the following weeks, meaning that the Night Country finale will likely air on Sunday, Jan. 18.
Mashable has reached out to Warner Bros. Discovery for comment on the finale airdate, and on whether the early premiere applies to HBO in addition to streaming on Max.
