The first trailer for Dreamworks Animation’s The Wild Robot is sure to pull your heartstrings and leave you in awe of nature.
Based on the book by Peter Brown, The Wild Robot introduces us to ROZZUM unit 7134, aka Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o), a robot who’s been shipwrecked on a deserted island. As time goes by, it will learn to adapt to its new (beautifully animated) surroundings, build friendships with the animals living alongside it, and even adopt an orphaned gosling.
The Wild Robot is written and directed by Chris Sanders of the How to Train Your Dragon series and Lilo & Stitch. It boasts an impressive voice cast that includes Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Bill Nighy (Love Actually), Kit Connor (Heartstopper), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), and Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible).
The Wild Robot is coming theaters Sept. 20.
