Need help finding a job or career advice? LinkedIn can connect you with famous experts — well the AI versions of experts.

On Thursday, the social media platform for professionals announced Expert AI, a coaching tool that lets users chat with customized chatbots based on various career experts and “LinkedIn-fluencers.” The tool is launching as a pilot with coaches Alicia Reece, Anil Gupta, Dr Gemma Leigh Roberts, and Lisa Gates, who can offer guidance on topics like relationship management, global business strategy, well-being, and career development.

LinkedIn in goes all in on AI

To build the tool, the instructors worked with LinkedIn to provide content to train the chatbot like LinkedIn Learning courses, posts on LinkedIn, blogs, newsletters, and coaching manuals. LinkedIn has also introduced a royalty model that that pays the instructors for their work. “We work closely with each instructor to ensure the AI-powered responses are authentic to their teaching style and aligned to their expertise to ensure a high-quality experience,” said VP of Product Hari Srinivasan in the announcement.

For the pilot, users can ask instructors questions like “how do I negotiate my salary” or “how do I build a growth mindset?” And the tool will provide tailored advice for making that mindset very growth-centric.

LinkedIn has recently rolled out various tools and features to keep users engaged on the platform and fuel that hustle and grind. This includes Wordle-esque games and short-form videos for its influencer community. The platform has also been working hard on AI-powered tools for recruiting and career development, such as using generative AI to find job candidates, automated messaging, summarizing content, and a general AI-coaching tool.

The coaching tool is available to LinkedIn Premium users and those with access to the LinkedIn Recruiter and Learning Hub. Expert AI is in pilot mode, although it’s unclear when it will roll out publicly. Regardless, it’s a good time to to become the #growthmindset guru you’ve always wanted to be.
